縁EN - The Suites is in the Furano Valley surrounded by Furano Ski Resort, Furanodake and Tokachidake, with Asahidake further beyond. 縁EN is on the edge of Furano City and is surrounded by farmland. With a 360° view of the surrounding mountains, vineyards and a meandering river, there is a sense of tranquility. And yet, it's a stone’s throw to the center of town. At 縁EN, we want our guests to enjoy the beauty of nature, the fresh and seasonal produce of Hokkaido, the changing colours of the seasons, and the many activities Furano and the surrounding area offers.
縁EN has been inspired by our environment and our love for Hokkaido. 縁EN translates as destiny, connection, a chance meeting.
After 15 years of holidaying in and exploring Hokkaido, we are so happy to finally be able to call Furano home. This feels like our destiny met. We created 縁EN with the hope that our guests can leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and connect with this special place.
In our effort to blend with the surrounding farmland, we chose a barn-like design with a shade of red inspired by the many barns dotted around Hokkaido.
We also endeavour to be environmentally conscious and have taken a number of steps towards this.
- Sustainable furniture and fittings: Our suites have been thoughtfully curated with a number of unique antique, vintage, and repurposed furnishings and fittings that lend a comfortable, modern atmosphere with a Japanese touch.
- Energy: We have installed energy-efficient LED bulbs throughout the property to cut down on our suite’s carbon footprint.
- Insulation: 縁EN has been constructed with the highest quality insulation to maximise the efficiency of heating through the cold months and cooling through the warm days. Roller blinds have also been installed on all windows to further enhance insulation.
- Waste recycling: Inline with Japan's garbage disposal, 縁EN requests all guests to follow the garbage separation guidelines for recycling purposes. Each suite has clearly marked separate bins for each type of waste.
- Minimised use of single use plastics: We avoid using or providing single use plastic items such as toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush or travel size body soap, shampoo and conditioner.
- Eco shopping bags: Each suite has been provided with eco shopping bags for guest use during their stay.
- Reuse of towel and linen: To minimise laundry cycles and water and energy use, we provide mid-stay change of towels and cleaning service for stays of 5+ days.
