In winter, Furano and the region is covered in snow. 縁EN, being surrounded by a blanket of white, one guest commented "it's like we're staying in the clouds". The pristine white scenery of the surrounding fields and mountains are beautiful and calming.
Although we get a lot of snowfall, we also get many clear blue sky days. From the suites at 縁EN, guests can enjoy views of the full snow-covered Daisetsuzan range.
Winter months run from around late Nov to end of Mar. We usually get average day time temperatures of around -10°C and the evenings would drop to -20°C. On some cold days in the middle of winter, temperatures can even reach -30°C. These cold temperatures are what makes the snow here renowned for being "fuwa fuwa", perfect fluffy powder snow for skiing and snowboarding and other winter activities. See our "Furano sights and activities" page for more information on winter activities.
Spring comes to Furano around April where the snow starts to melt and the ground starts to thaw. At 縁EN, we're always excited for sakura season and seeing the first blooms of fukinoto, daffodils and tulips in our garden. And in May, our shiba zakura come into bloom turning our garden at 縁EN a beautiful bright pink. Spring is also the start of planting season.
Spring months are Apr to late Jun and the temperatures gradually rise from below 10°C to mid twenties in the day and at night from below 5°C to mid teens by Jun.
For avid skiers, spring skiing at Furano Ski Resort runs till the end of Japan's Golden Week and till around Jun at Asahidake.
Asparagus season is another highlight of spring we look forward to at 縁EN. Surrounded by asparagus farmers, we share with our guests where you can get fresh, nutty, sweet, delicious asparagus to have here or take home with you.

Lavender is in bloom from late Jun to early Aug, which makes summer a peak season where many tourists come from near and far for the famed lavender and flower fields, as well as Furano's delicious and sweet melons. All around 縁EN, you can enjoy lush green fields and mountains. A dramatic contrast to winter!
At 縁EN, our garden is also in full bloom and our veggie patch is flourishing. For guests looking to cook up a meal in their suite, we offer to share our homegrown vegetables. With our well-equipped kitchen, guests can enjoy a farm to table experience.
In the summer months from late Jun to early Sep, temperatures rise to high twenties and even to low thirties in the day and the evenings at around high teens or low twenties. We tend to also get a couple of humid weeks in early/mid August.
With the beautiful sunny days, there are plenty of sights and activities to also enjoy in addition to the flower fields such as waterfalls, taking a bike ride or cooling off with a kayak trip down Sorachi River. See our "Furano sights and activities" page for more information on Green season activities. Also come join us every 28 & 29 Jul for Furano's annual Heso Matsuri (Bellybutton Festival).
Autumn is our favourite season! At 縁EN, located in the middle of the valley, we are surrounded by the colours of gold, yellow, red and orange and snowcapped mountains. The views from 縁EN are spectacular and guests can take this all in from their suite.
Autumn is also when we harvest our potatoes. For domestic guests who stay during this time, you can look forward to a little souvenir bag of our kita akari potatoes to take home with you.
